Rights & Ownership

The 32.Day archive is owned and operated by Birand Yapım in Istanbul, which licenses footage from it directly.

Every licence is subject to rights clearance. Before we quote, we check each requested segment against the tape log and our records and confirm what we can licence.

Some catalogue entries include third-party material: agency feeds (for example Reuters), footage from other broadcasters, or material used under licence in the original programme. About 850 entries in the log name such a source; they are marked Third-party material — rights check on this site. For those we tell you what is ours to licence and, where we can, who holds the rest.

Interviews and location footage shot by 32.Day crews are the core of what we license. Contributors' rights, music and on-screen graphics are reviewed as part of each quote.
