32.Gün (32.Day) was the current-affairs programme created and presented by Mehmet Ali Birand. It first aired on TRT on 1 October 1985 and ran for more than three decades on several Turkish channels. Its crews filmed across Turkey, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus and the former Soviet Union.
The archive is operated by Birand Yapım in Istanbul. It holds 26,617 catalogued tape segments: broadcast programmes, raw interviews and location rushes, mostly on Betacam and 1-inch tape.
Original material for documentary, broadcast, film, streaming and other approved uses. Quote the archive IDs you need, or describe the scene and we'll search the tape logs.
The catalogue lists 442 segments connected to Turkish Coups, of which 439 are graded Exclusive or Unique. Dated material runs from 1965 to 2008, with most from the 1990s. 313 segments are undated in the tape log. Main locations: Turkey, USSR, Azerbaijan and Romania. Formats: Betacam, 1-inch and U-matic.
Yes. Add the segments you need to your request list, or quote their archive IDs (for example “REC 11428”) on the request form. Indicative rates start at $430 per minute for Standard material and rise with rarity; the final quote depends on media, territory and term. See licensing.
The descriptions are the original tape-room log entries written by the 32.Day team. We keep them as they are and can supply English summaries and shot lists for any segment you shortlist.
126 of these segments contain material logged as coming from agencies or other broadcasters (for example Reuters). We confirm the rights position for every segment before quoting and tell you if any part is not ours to licence.
